Welcome

Kyle Goings is a recent film production graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the arts. True to his midwestern roots, everyday “folks” are the subject of his films; however, there’s more than meets the eye, as the everyday people in these films have far from everyday lives. From the tobacco fields of Cuba to the whetstone of weapons experts, Kyle captures the human element of those whose stories are seldom told and does so in the most captivating light.

Kyle’s film studies have afforded him many unique opportunities for travel and professional growth. One such experience was a semester abroad in Havana, Cuba.  While there, Kyle fell in love with the Cuban way of life, the culture (especially the music), and nostalgic feel of Havana. But life is not all play, and during his stay, Kyle shot two films: Field to Smoke and Casa del Tabaco. From the still, rum-induced haze of a Cuban afternoon in late April to the pristine marble, glitz, and rich Monte Cristo smoke of a Havana cigar shop, these films share the intriguing farm-to-shop stories of Cuba’s cigar industry.

Stateside, Kyle has created films about the Neo-Futurist, an experimental theatre group from NYC, and blacksmith Ryu Lim who starred on History Channel’s Forged in Fire. He also worked as a sound mixer in both fiction and documentary films.

While at NYU, Kyle has worked with some of the companies at the forefront of film and content production.  He was a production assistant on two Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black (Season 6) and The Punisher (Season 2). Kyle also has interned with Ark Media and Bungalow Media.  Kyle’s research and development internships have provided him a wealth of experience in both a fiction and non-fiction capacity.
